Bareilly DM Reviews Aadhaar Monitoring, Orders Faster Disposal of Pending Cases

Bareilly: District Magistrate Avinash Singh chaired a meeting of the district-level Aadhaar Monitoring Committee at the Collectorate auditorium to review the progress of Aadhaar enrolment, updation and related services across Bareilly district.

During the review, the District Magistrate expressed concern over the high pendency of Aadhaar-related cases at the tehsil level and directed officials to take immediate corrective measures. He instructed the administration to organise special Aadhaar camps at tehsil level to ensure that pending cases are disposed of at the earliest.

Singh stressed the need for continuous monitoring of Aadhaar-related work so that the district’s overall performance and coverage percentage could be improved. He said regular assessment was essential to identify areas where progress remained below expectations.

The District Magistrate particularly flagged the district’s performance in Aadhaar updation, describing it as unsatisfactory and calling for significant improvement. He directed Block Education Officers to set regular targets and closely monitor progress in Aadhaar updation.

The meeting also reviewed Aadhaar enrolment among children in the 0-5 years age group. Taking note of the slow pace of enrolment in this category, the District Magistrate instructed officials to accelerate the process. He directed the District Programme Officer to regularly monitor the progress and ensure that eligible children are enrolled for Aadhaar without unnecessary delay.

The District Magistrate also called for wider publicity of Aadhaar centres across the district. He said greater public awareness would enable more residents to access Aadhaar-related services conveniently and help reduce difficulties faced by people seeking enrolment or updation services.

Officials were directed to maintain regular coordination and monitoring to improve Aadhaar service delivery and ensure that pending cases do not accumulate.

Chief Development Officer Devyani, Additional District Magistrate (Administration) Purnima Singh, District Economics and Statistics Officer Ajay Chaudhary, District Basic Education Officer Dr Vineet Shukla and other concerned officials attended the meeting.
